What are your views on psychiatric medications?

Answer:

Psychiatric medications should NEVER take the place of Mindfulness and CBT therapy. These therapies treat the root cause of your anxiety rather than just your symptoms. I am however an advocate for non narcotic psychiatric medications. ALL psychiatric medications work best when they are used in harmony with Mindfulness and CBT based therapies. I strongly encourage you to be an informed consumer and find a doctor that is willing to work with you on finding the medication that is right for you. For many, this is a journey and not an exact science.
